No Man’s Sky has received a new update that introduces a new class of ship to the space exploration game. Living ships need to be hatched from eggs, and you will learn about their origin through a new story mission chain – Starbirth.

Living ships come with certain restrictions you’ll have to overcome, such as a different upgrade system that requires you to hatch or evolve new technologies to customise your ship.

The “Living Ship” update also features a host of optimisations, quality of life changes and bug fixes. New story missions have also been added, along with new encounters and trader hails. Full details are available on the No Man’s Sky website.
